A custom boot floppy provides a way to boot into your Mandrake system without depending on the Linux bootloader should it ever get damaged or corrupt.

Note: The Installation CD also contains a rescue system. If you even need to access "rescue mode" with the CD, press F1 at the installation boot prompt.
