Test Case: Autosuspend blacklists Categories: Desktop, KDE, Autosuspend Requirements: KDE Installation, a machine which support ACPI S3/S4 (suspend to ram/disk) Depends On: Test Case 12 (Autosuspend) Action: ============================ Be sure that the machine support 'Suspend to Disk' or 'Suspend to RAM' (see Test Case #01 or #02) and that autosuspend work in general (see Test Case #12) Configure KPowersave: - click on the applet icon with right mouse button, select 'Configure KPowersave ...' - select the Powersave scheme in the 'Scheme Settings' tab - select the 'Autosuspend' page in the toolbox - select/enable the 'Enable autosuspend' checkbox - select a suspend method (e.g. Suspend to Disk) and a time (e.g. 5 min.) - select/enable 'Enable scheme-specific blacklist' and import the general blacklist - apply/confirm all dialogs which may get opened - close the config dialog via the 'OK' button Case 1: no program in the blacklist is running (currently: mplayer, gmplayer, kaffeine, xine, mencoder, cdrecord, cdrecord-dvd, cdrdao, growisofs, kdetv, xawtv, realplay.bin, wodim) Case 2: at least one of the programmes in the blacklist is running. Start e.g. kaffeine for this test. Select now the 'Powersave' scheme via the applet menu ('Set Active Scheme' --> 'Powersave') Now wait the selected time and don't touch mouse, keyboard or touchpad within this time. Expected Results: ============================ Case 1: machine should do autosuspend after the defined time (as in Test Case #12) Case 2: as long as one of the programmes in blacklist is running the machine should not autosuspend after the defined time. If all of the progammes get exited/closed the machine should suspend after (almost) the defined time.
