Test Case: Autodimm brightness Categories: Desktop, KDE, Brightness Requirements: KDE Installation, a machine with a supported brightness interface Depends On: Test Case 09 Action: ============================ Start KDE as normal user, check if KPowersave is running (check for the KPowersave icon in the taskbar, or "ps aux | grep KPowersave"). Be sure that Test Case #09 fulfilled on your machine. Configure KPowersave for autodimm brightness: - click on the applet icon with right mouse button, select 'Configure KPowersave ...' - select the Performance scheme in the 'Scheme Settings' tab - select the 'Autodimm' page in the toolbox - select/enable the 'Enable autodumm the display' checkbox - set a time after which the display should get dimmed (e.g. 1 or 2 min) - set a level to which the brightness should get dimmed (e.g. 15%) - close the config dialog via the 'OK' button Select now the 'Performance' scheme via the applet menu ('Set Active Scheme' --> 'Performance') Now wait the selected time and don't touch mouse, keyboard or touchpad within this time. Expected Results: ============================ After the defined time (+max. ~30 seconds) the display should get dimmed down to the defined level. If the user now press a key or move the mouse/touchpad the display should get dimmed up to the normal (previous) level.
